As it was decided during the last Netcom Meeting in Brussels (August, 2006), the Internal Task Division of the Network Commission has changed. These changes will take effect during the AGORA Napoli, where the new Netcommies will be elected.

There are two main reasons for those changes. One is practical and the other one, idealistic.

The practical reason:

Since the Regional division was introduced, the AEGEE Network has changed a lot. Some areas have developed strongly, others become crisis areas. As result, the task division among Netcom Teams has become obsolete.

Some Netcommies have more locals to coordinate than others, and this makes the task division not fair. With the new task division, we are facing the current problems of the Network and we are trying to optimise our work towards the crisis areas of our Network.

The idealistic reason:

Past years, there were rigid regions which have built up the feeling of belonging to a particular Region, instead of a Pan-European Network.

The regional identities have become stronger in many cases around the Network, and this should be avoided.

When the Region idea was conceived, its only aim was to improve the task division among the Netcom members and make it clearer.
